The Dansoman branch was officially opened on 10the October, 1975. Located at
a vicinity that can boast of the best schools in the capital, it is not
surprising that it has developed to be a force to reckon with in academic
circles. This branch has about 24 modern classrooms, a state of the art computer laboratory, a
standard foot ball field and many more.

The late Rapheal Addoayi
Dowetin’s desire to make education more accessible and
affordable to parents and their wards, moved him to 22nd Close
Dansoman, where on 10the October, 1975, the Dansoman branch of
the school was officially opened.
The ceremony was performed by Mr. Owusu Adjei, who was then
managing director of state Housing Corporation. He performed it
on behalf of the Commissioner of Education, Col. E. O. Nyante
(late). There were 24 permanent classrooms, an office,
furniture, a bookshop facilities, with 28 pupil pioneers.
Mr. George Osei was the first Headmaster and the first nine

In 1988, the school
embraced the concept of Basic Education, and enrolled
its first batch of JSS pupils who passed out at the end of the
1990/91 academic year.
In 1997 the school
represented the Ablekumna Sub metro in the “Spelling B”
competition and won the bronze medal (third position). Again,
Datus Dansoman emerge champions of the Brain Buster
competition in 2002.
Also, since the inception of the BECE, Datus Dansoman has
stood tall among her contemporaries with excellent academic
records. As a result, most students who complete the
school find easy entry into their first choice senior
secondary schools. This has been made possible by the
dedicated and selfless service that the staff has
demonstrated.
The PTA of the school has also contributed enormously to the
development of the school. Among other things, they have
provided the school with a library, a fridge and sometimes,
financial assistance and a special packages for the teachers. |
