The
School was opened on Tuesday 8th September 1998
with an initial enrolment of forty four-four pupils admitted
from Crèche to Basic 6.On 10th
September, 1998; the first set of boarders were admitted (2 children),
Charlotte Tawiah and Micheal Tawiah.
The late
Frank Amable was the headmaster who
began the school with nine teachers,namely
After
one year the school had an enrolment of 720 pupils with 22
teachers which showed a great improvement.
On 4th
January 2000, the Junior Secondary Department was officially
opened with 28 students and 3 teachers.The Headmaster of the
JSS Department took over the Department on 27th
September 2001 and the first batch 78 JSS students sat for the
Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from 22nd
April 2002 to 26 April 2002. By then the enrolment in the JSS
Department was 294 students with 12 teachers.
The
school emerged the best in the Awutu\Affutu\Senya District
when the BECE results were released on 24th
September 2002. All the 78 students presented for the
exams passed with distinctions and gained admission into the
Senior Secondary School system all over the country. The
school was voted as the Best in the District.
The Second batch of JSS
students numbering 74 also emerged victorious with 100%
distinction and selected as the best school in the Awuntu\Effutu\Senya
District for the second time.
